.
Greetings Brethren,
I would first like to thank all of those brethren who attended the November Stated meeting. It is very humbling for me to have been elected to serve as Master of Center Star Lodge for the upcoming year and I promise that I will give 100% of my effort to the betterment of the Lodge.
My first task as the new Master was an unfortunate one of conducting a Masonic Funeral Service for Bro. Robert “Bob” Nichols of Alexandria. Bro. Nichols was a 62 year member of Center Star Lodge and was very well know throughout the Masonic Community and the communities of Granville and Alexandria. I would like to thank Rt. Wor. Bro. Fred Palmer for his excellent Funeral Service and thank all of the brethren that came out to show their support for Bro. Nichols and his family. Bob will sorely be missed.
Our Lodge Secretary has reported that we currently have a list of 13 members that have yet to pay their dues for the 2009-2010 Masonic year. I’m sure I need not preach to the choir about money issues, but we seem to travel this rough and winding road every year. As some of you may have forgotten, one of our tenets is that of “Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth”. Your brethren may be able to assist you if you are having financial difficulties in fulfilling your obligation to the Lodge. It only takes a phone call to any of the officer’s of the Lodge if you need help and your reason for needing help will remain confidential. If we do not hear from or receive the dues from those who still owe by December 31, 2009, suspension for non-payment is eminent. Our Lodge is like many others, we rely on the funds generated from membership to fulfill our obligation to the many charities that we support and to the Grand Lodge of Ohio.
In other news, I would like to congratulate those brethren who received their Years of Service Award Pins at the Awards Presentation on Sunday December 13, 2009. I would also like to thank the officer’s and brethren who attended. Despite the damp weather, we had good turnout and good fellowship was had by all.
The inspection season is quickly approaching and Center Star is gearing up to confer the EA Degree on Saturday February 13, 2010 at 8am. As in years past, we will be holding a triple inspection with Crusader Lodge #720 and Heath Lodge #771 on that date. Please plan on attending the inspection and showing your support for the officer’s and brethren of your Lodge. A complete list of inspection dates can be viewed by going to our web site at: www.heathmasoniccomplex.org. I plan on attending as many of the inspections as possible and I invite anyone who wishes to travel and who would like a ride to please call me. Maybe we could get enough brethren out, that we could give New Home Lodge and Licking Lodge a run for their money on the “Traveling Gavel” award this year.
In closing, Center Star Lodge will be very busy and active this next year and many events and functions have been planned. Please keep an eye on upcoming issues of the newsletter and our web site for more details. I look forward to seeing you at one of our functions in the very near future.
